Started last week, I was playing dota then suddenly a bunch of colored lines appeared on my monitor then everything blacked out. Everytime I open my computer it goes up to the windows logo, then it blacks out, no sound, no lights on keyboard. I couldnt open it while my monitor was connected to my video card so, i tried connecting it to onboard graphics(vga) and it worked.
So I figured it might be my video card that has the problem, updated my drivers and everything
(had trouble with this, so I even reformatted, then installed the driver). I think the drivers are working properly as I can see it in the device manager.
The only thing that works is when I connect the monitor to the video card is when I go to safe mode but everything is discolored. Is my video card dead? are there any other things i missed checking? (I also tried removing the card and pc boots up fine)
