I've recently been planning on building a new computer with the Corsair 250D because of it's small form factor and all, however, seeing Nvidia with their new line-up of 970 cards, I have decided to put one in for myself. The Gigabyte G1 edition has caught my eye, but the considerable length compared to the Asus, MSI and EVGA cards has caused quite a bit of controversy on such a new topic. Not once was I able to find a solid answer on whether or not this card can fit. Is anybody here to clarify this, and if so do I have to take out a bay in the case to provide enough room? If it helps, I'm also planning on using the H100i closed loop water cooler.

Unfortunately, the Gaming G1 970 will not fit in your case it is 312mm long and your case supports cards up to 290mm :

You chose a chassis with a pretty small GPU support and chose the largest GTX970 version.

Zotac is shorter, but still won't fit in the 250D.
It does however fit in the Cooler Master Elite 110 mITX, its not as good as the 250D though.

What alternative do you believe I should go with for an mini-ITX case. Would it fit in a Bitfenix Prodigy?

:EDIT: I have looked up on pcpartpicker.com and it appears the Corsair 250d is actually able to fit most 970s, however the G1 is not listed on it :L

Just checked on that before you asked. The BitPhenix prodigy fits 320mm when you remove the HDD bay.

Personally that is cutting it a bit fine, I would get a shorted GTX970 version, like from MSI or Zotac or Asus and call it a day.
Jip, cuz its ridiculously long. :)

If you are looking at the Prodigy, it will only fit if you remove the drive cage which will allow a total of 317.5mm of GPU length support. The G1 Gaming will just fit into there. Could only find the length support on Anandtech : http://www.anandtech.com/show/5867/bitfenix-prodigy-rev...
They don't seem to have it on their product page and on Newegg.

It in fact does fit, they measure from the ports to the end, its about 290mm, people in corsair 250d club have done it.
