Hello guys, today I took apart my comupter for its scheduled cleaning, after putting it all back together, motherboard, cables and all-I booted it up and the monitor says no signal.

Im guessing its a gpu problem because I can boot up just fine when using the onboard vga, with the card unplugged- but when the card is plugged in and placed in the pci socket, with the monitor cable plugged into the card, then it says no signal, but my keyboard and mouse light up just fine, as usual- and no beeps are heard.

Specs:
CPU: amd fx61000
GPU: Gigabyte hd7850OC
MOBO: Msi 760gm-p21(fx)
PSU: Corsair CX500

More about : hey

Probably a loose connection/bad seating of the GPU. Try to fiddle with the alignment. Sometimes when you screw down the card it shifts slightly.

You did remember to plug the 6-pin power connector in, didn't you?

It was working perfectly.
You took it apart to clean.
You put it back together.
It fails to work.

This is a physical connection issue.
BIOS and drivers will not fix this.

Touch and verify every single connection. Even the ones you didn't undo to clean it.

Yeah Thanks USAFRet, I just wanted to put it under motherboards because I found out today that it was motherboard related. I would jsut like to know how to verify these connections to the pci-e slot via touching it( how would i go about doing it )

I see a 'mistake' here either with what you posted or DID
When you " card is plugged in and placed in the pci socket, with the monitor cable plugged into the card" - THIS IS A MISTAKE. PLUG cable into ONBOARD FIRST. Do you still get video with the onboard WITH the GPU Card plugged in?
IF YES, then access BIOS in this configuration and THEN set to the PCI slot NOT onboard VGA.
Reboot and do you STILL get video on the ONBOARD? If yes, then there is a problem with the Mobo most likely.
IF NO, move cable NOW from ONBOARD to GPU, do you get VIDEO NOW? IF NO, then VERY LIKELY Mobo has failure OR a POWER issue.

A) depending on your responses above I would check for a BIOS update to Mobo
B) swap PSU for a 550-600W and see what happens. Many PSUs are failed or fail overtime, and thus not enough power for your GPU when plugged in. http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/produc... states you need 500W, so over that would be better to ensure your not 'maxed'.
C) Numerous Youtube videos show you VISUALLY how to 'SEAT A VIDEO CARD' (hint hint what to search for).

Alright, I tired doing it your way, I can only get video when the onboard is plugged in, and ive previously set my Bios to onboardVGA, once ive done that It boots using the onboard video, and the card fan spinning- it recognizes the card in the device manager, but once i restart and turn the BIOS to PCI-E then plug the cable into the card it remains black, Im guessing the mobo has failed me, but I do have a spare of the motherboard, but in the gp23 version(rather than gp21) HOWEVER this board's BIOS is bricked. Is there any way to repair that board using MSI's M-Flash?

Possibly. Dunno off the top of my head.. you might want to look it up on that support forum website and see about 'bricked' But as I said EITHER Mobo OR PSU. As you KNOW the GPU IS working (as you noted) outside of this system, and we know the video cable/monitor work correctly, the issue is the Mobo/PSU able to support this card. Hence my suggestion on updating the BIOS of the Mobo and swapping PSUs
