Hi guys. Recently i tried booting up my computer but it shuts off after a few second. I tried it several times but to no avail. My psu usually has blue led when i power it on. Now when i power it on, my psu fan will spin and blue led will light up but after a few second it shuts off(fan not spinning and no blue led). I appreciate any help or advice. Is this because of a faulty psu?

What spec is your PSU and how old is it?

Do you have a friends PSU that you could borrow to test? Unfortunately i think you're right, the PSU is gone. Might be worth checking connections to your MB from the PSU, reseating your ram and trying another plug just incase.

Hey,

What are your full specs?
How old is the computer?
Have you updated anything/changed the bios/voltages/turned it off during an update at all?

Sounds like a PSU issue but it's best to explore the software side of things first - these can be solved with very little £££ spent.

Computer Specs:

I3 3220
500GB Hard Drive
Asrock h71m-dgs
AMD 7730
4GB Ram

I have not touched the bios or voltage. For updates i can only remember windows update but that was few days ago. Sometimes when i unplugged the cables such as the cable for psu to socket, vga etc i can boot it up to my desktop screen but then it will shut down shortly after.

Sorry for the late reply. My psu is by acbel 700 watts 80+ bronze if im not wrong. It is only 1 year plus. I have tried removing and putting my ram back in. I also check that all the connections to my motherboard are tuck in properly. Sadly none of my friends are using desktop. Should i get another psu?

I dont know if it is the psu or maybe virus or something. On my psu there is a switch to turn the psu on and off, there is light on that switch. My case also has blue light to indicate power and it has light. So now i am confuse if it is my psu or something else. When i boot up my pc it will power on then shuts off after like 30 second then my psu fan will spin for 1 or two revolution then goes off. When i try to restore my pc back to initial state(thinking it was a virus), it was restoring for a minute then my pc goes off.
