Hi there,

I try to solve this problem 7th day now. read all topics on internet. So to save all unnecessary questions, here is what I done and what I've checked:

1.Bought brand new motherboard (gigabyte without integrated vga so there will be no doubts about any incomapatibilities between integrated and external)
2.Had before HD5770 and hdmi was working fine.
3.Got strong enough 750W Corsair PSU (2 extra power connections are connected to HD7950)
4.got signal and display from dvi output.
5.On tv I pick hdmi 1 output (says no signal) tried all other 3 hdmi ports on tv, and i did switched on remote for those ports, still no signal. tried power up tv first or PC first, or both at the same time. No joy.
6.Problem starts when I bought new HD7950 and I put it to my old MS 760G-p23 fx board where I used to had HD5770, after new card fitted no hdmi at all. so I thought maybe motherboard to weak or integrated vga couse this issue. Bought brand new gigabyte mobo without integrated VGA same story, so I format HDD and instaled new windows 7 PRO 64bit same system I had before, still no hdmi.
7. brand new drivers from amd website for this model instaled.
8. At the moment Im using DVI to vga TV,
9. The only thing I haven't done is buying a new hdmi cable I heard there are new 1.4 and they are newer and different than old hdmi1.3. I will buy new cable today, but I doubt it will change anything.

Is anyone from you people out there who have HD7950 hdmi output working and can upload picture of Control panel/device manager view, so i can see what you got there I don't have?

many thanks

Martin

Did you get the 7950 new? If it was second hand there is a good chance someone flashed a new BIOS onto it. Look up your original 7950 BIOS on techpowerup and flash the original back on.

Non-functioning HDMI is a common issue with "BIOS unlocks" and other tomfoolery

It could just be a dead HDMI port on your 7950. Are you using the TV as the only display running off the 7950?

Seeing as your existing cable worked with your old 5770, getting a new cable won't change anything so save yourself the trouble.

I have had one HDMI cable stop working on me so trying a new cable is always worth a try

Yes it is second hand. But there is so many topics out there from people who bought brand new and they have same issues, even 7700 serries 6000 serries, just after swaping from old to new GPU suddently HDMI DEAD. So I give it up on gpu bios being wrong, or hdmi port being dead. Some of them thought hdmi is faulty, they returned get new gpu and same problem still exist.
