My friend gave me his 2TB My passbook ultra which consisted of video files
I had no issues watching videos from the external HDD through my dvd player and no issues when I connected the external drive to my IMAC

I had some videos on my IMAC which I wanted to transfer onto that external HDD for viewing through my dvd player.

I could not transfer files from my IMAC to the HDD, so i formated the external HDD.

I backed up all the videos from the HDD to my IMAC than i formated the external HDD to MAC OS Extended (Journaled). I had luck transferring the videos from my IMAC to the external HDD and viewing was good on the IMAC though when i connected the external HDD to my dvd player i received a message "the usb device connected to this units front panel is not supported".

I formated the external HDD once again to MS-DOS(FAT) and when i connected the external HDD to the dvd player i recieved the same message "the usb device connected to this units front panel is not supported"

What is going on?

I would think it needs NTFS. or at the very least FAT32. I do not think FAT works for 2TB (not enough addresses)
