I have the Maximus VII Gene (Z97) - it supports 3 chassis fans, and two CPU fans (5x 4 pin fan connectors), not sure how similar the two mobos are. Definitely get the GTX970 over the 770, better performance for your money, very efficient power consumption.

If you need more fans you can always get a fan controller for one of the 5.25" bay, recommend the NZXT sentry mix 2 if you have a lot of fans beyond what the mobo can support.

GTX 970 instead of 770 if you can afford it. For the SSD Samsung 840 EVO or Pro series. For motherboard MSI-GIGABYTE on Z87 chipset. PSU - Seasonic all the way, greatest PSU's out there. The rest is ok.
