Hello

I am planning to upgrade my ram from 3Gb (1x1gb, 1x2gb) ddr2 333mhz to 8GB (2x4gb) DDR3 1066. After searching around I've came across a lot of people who had problems with new ram and the gigabyte ga g41m Combo motherboard.

The ram I plan to order is: G.Skill 8GB DDR3 PC3-8500 Kit. Link

The motherboard supports 2x4gb sticks, max 1066. I just want to make sure this will work before ordering. Usually I would go ahead and order, but the amount of posts I have seen of others having problems with the motherboard makes me unsure if it will work. Does anyone know for sure or have any experience with this motherboard/ram combo?

Spec:
gigabyte ga g41m rev 2.0
Intel Q6600 2.4
GeForce 9600GT
600W Power Supply

Yes, the memory specifications is correct but i'm not sure if that will work. I'd rather suggest Value RAM instead of the ones you are currently looking at. Before upgrading make sure you remove the DDR2 because if both are installed the system will not work. It supports both 1333MHz and 1066MHz speed memory modules.

Btw, I do have a similar motherboard which has a LGA 775 socket and G41 Chipset motherboard - P5G41C M LX. So don't go for the fancy memory my experience instead try the ones listed in this link or use the specifications mentioned there and try any other stores that is available around your place. Hope that helps. Cheers! :)
