Hi guys,

I have:

Asus Z87 Sabretooth Mobo
i5 4670k
Geforce 780 Gigabyte Windforce
16Gb Ram
750W Corsair CX750 power supply

Bought as a full system recently, can be overclocked - but isn't currently.
(set to energy saving via bios)

on a fresh install of W8 with the chipset drivers installed all is well so far
displays fine on basic drivers on both the card itself and on built in video.,

BUT on install of the latest nvidia drivers, the system bootloops to recovery
there is apparently an issue with the drivers or installation.

I have tried removing them and then a clean install of a series of older drivers but no luck so far.
I hope the card itself isn't goosed!! :(

on recovery, in device manager it says "A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternative driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)"

second clean install of W8, am I doing something wrong?

Apologies if this is in a thread or sticky elsewhere, I did look but didn't see anything exactly like this.

Thanks for all replies.

Quick update - I tried it in slot 2, booted, only picked it up as generic vga at first but within a min, windows scanned, found and blackscreened (while drivers were installed)

Also

popped my geforce 470 from my old machine in there, installed latest drivers - picked up and installed fine.
e.g motherboard fine, power supply fine, cables fine.

There must be a problem with the graphics card and these drivers in particular.

Further, further information (the plot thickens)
switching from the 470 back to the 780 gives a code 43 and this message in device hardware:

"Driver Management has concluded the process to add Service BasicDisplay for Device Instance ID PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1004&SUBSYS_36041458&REV_A1\4&3834D97&0&0008 with the following status: 0."

I think I may well have a clash between the built in card and the 780 on my hands - but no idea how to resolve this.
