Hi guys...
I'm looking for a good cpu speed to play games like bf4 on ultra.
I have been able to overclock my fx6300 to 4,5GHz with it only reaching 50•c on prime 95, but I am wondering if it is really necessary?
What speed do I really need for gaming on ultra?

Thanks in advance

Why not just record your average FPS and then downclock and do it again? A PC is a sum of parts and your bottleneck may be entirely different to someone elses. That said if your PC is happily running at your current speed and you're happy with the temps (for long term longevity) then why worry in the first place?
That's about as far as you'll want to go with an FX-6300. I doubt you'll see any significant increase in performance from increasing it further.

Your graphics card also affects game performance. No use having the best processor in the world if the graphics card is not up to the job.

For gaming even a decent 3-4 GHz will work but is not really the most important part of the equation. Lets say u go and buy yourself a super fancy i7 but u wont be able to get gr8 performance out of it unless u get a good graphics card to pair with it like a Nvidia gtx 980 or 970.
