i have asus p8h61 m lx3 r2.0 motherboard which suddenly stopped giving signal to screen now i can't see anything on screen even can't see bios but the window boot normally which i eventually came to know through microsoft remote desktop connection which i setup earlier to access this pc using my laptop on interconnected network.when i turns on my desktop it boots normally but nothing on screen not even bios screen.

using microsoft desktop connection i have checked my desktop and video adaptor is missing from device manager i checked using several other benchmark tools which tells me no gpu cable device found.

now my question is ,if i put a dedicated gpu in my pci slot will it work or not

i am asking this because i am going to buy a graphic card .should i need to buy both mobo and graphic card . or gpu in pci slot work without any problem.
how i can able to change the setting in bios if nothing on the screen

Edit:--
cleared cmos nothing happen
updated bios nothing

on putting graphic card in pcie willl i need to change anything from bios( which isn't possible as no signal from motherboard ) or works automatically

specs are asus p8h61 m lx3 r2.0 motherboard
i3-3210
vs450

thinkking of buying r7 260x

yes all you would do now is set the dedicated graphics card to primmry display in the bios .. it will definitely work

Try to reset CMOS first. Maybe the onboard GPU somehow disabled.

If that doesn't work, yes a dedicated GPU should work.

Which GPU card are you looking at?

gpu in pci slots works without problem they just dont perform up to par in terms of gaming or anything like that in games or stuff like that of its pci e counter parts .. it will be fine for everyday computing though ..

Check your motherboard manual. There is usually a bios setting to switch from internal VGA to PCIe/Discrete Video. If the default is set to "auto" it should automatically switch over to the dicrete video card and bypass the onboard VGA.
