for some reason my mobo bios was showing 70 degree temperature of my processor just being idle...i changed the thermal paste...then the temperature still shows 50 degree in idle....whenever i start games like battlefield 4 my pc restarts....then when i enter the bios again the temp goes to over 75-80 and up....is this a bios prob...will i have to update my bios...??

Do you have decent airflow in the case?

What cpu and what cooler are you using?

did you clean all the old paste off properly and not OVER apply the new stuff?

could be due to an overclock in the ram, airflow, heatsink not being secured properly, please provide more info.

i m using i5 3470 with stock cooler..the cooler is doing good....my chassis is thermaltake v3..with chassis cooler as well....the thing is...when my bios showed 80 degree i opened the processor and it wasn't that hot when i touched it...the heat sink of the cpu cooler was also not that hot...

install HWMonitor. Check temps from there.

yes i have cleaned it...the ram is not overclocked....the airflow seems to be alright as my gpu temp and mobo temp is only 30-35.....heatsink is also put in

I can't really say 100% if that is your problem.

Have you upgraded the BIOS for the motherboard? It could just be a bad sensor...

Considering the games crash when you run them, is it possible that RAM is bad?

It could explain the higher temps on the CPU.
