I think they're probably referring to the coil whine on the Asus model's fans, there might be some other issues with the EVGA's models that I myself can't confirm but I think it has something to do with heatsink alignment. So yeah, avoid those if you don't want to have to mess with them to work out their kinks. Otherwise, from what I've seen with most other brands for the 970 you should be good to go.

Wow uhh, so I thought "hey, that's a pretty good deal," then I saw that Euro sign. If you want to drop that much money for convenience, by all means do so, but if you were willing to take a little time to carefully assemble a PC yourself there's not only people here that'll give you advice when you need it but there's tons of information relevant to it on here. It's not all that hard, I'm no expert about the any of this stuff but just built a couple PC's over the summer while having little prior knowledge of them.

They're showing a pic of what I think is a 980, because no 970's come with that Nvidia reference cooler, so unless you ask them or can customize what brand you want you might get stuck with a less than desirable model. I'd still recommend building your own.

The price is in £s. And if you click on customise and buy it says its the 970 but i was going to phone up anyway to be sure. If it is the 970 do u think with this system i would be able to max out all games on 1080p. I dont really have the patience to build my own ive tried before but messed up a little. What puts me off is the cost of the equipment and the fear of breaking the parts

That's understandable and it can be intimidating to new builders, but it's actually really simple if you're even just slightly careful about how you handle the components. But hey, if you don't want to and would prefer to pay for a prebuilt system, that's your call.

I'd say that it'd get near max at 1080p with a single 970 in modern games, if you wanted to add another 970 later on you'd definitely be able to fully max out at 1080p and probably 1440p if you had a 1440p monitor or downsampled to 1440p (displaying a higher resolution than supported for the monitor for better image quality, it's an integrated feature with the new Nvidia cards called DSR). Just make sure to tell them you don't want an EVGA or ASUS brand 970, maybe ask for a MSI.

Want to save 55 Euros? I wouldn't get the SSD (solid state drive) then, a lot of people swear their lives on them but I wouldn't really call them necessary. They're faster than a standard sata 3 6/gb per second harddrive and a lot of people have their operating system installed on them, but more expensive for less storage capacity and not an absolute must for anything related to gaming. Loading screens might be faster in games installed on them, but they aren't going to increase the performance for gaming, and having come from consoles I think they're pretty fast to begin with.

Looking at the list, it just says GTX 970 with a wrong picture for that actual card, no brand information.
