Hello !

I just bought a canon MG2420 printer and i'm wondering what i should do or not do with it. I only use it occasionally. I don't think i will print more than 100 pages per year, and sometimes i can be more than a month without printing anything.

I searched a little bit here and there but i read alot of contradictory comments. Some says i should leave it on at all time. some says i should always turn it off when not in use. Some says to print a test page every week if not used. Some says to just turn it on and off every few days to let it clean the heads, but some says that cleaning heads often make it use alot of ink. I'm totaly lost...

Anyone able to give me a real answer about that ? :)

Thanks !

If the printer is unused for lengths of time, it should be turned off (possibly unplugged and put away if feasible). Doing that, the once a week turning it on method should work also (if it does a cartridge cleaning, not all printers do - might just do a test page but either way). I don't know that there is a "real answer" but those are my thoughts here.
