pcie ssd for dell precision 390

Hi!
Is it possible to boot from an ocz revodrive pcie ssd with the dell precision 390? It has this motherboard: http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/specs-dell-0dn075/

In theory, it should work. This system began shipping in 2006, probably before even PCIe SSDs were even around. Before installing/purchasing, make sure you have your BIOS to the latest.

That being said, it may or may not work. I know OEM's usually don't work with every expansion card out there.

I have the latest bios (2.6 from 2008) but there are no signs that I can setup for booting from a pcie device...

You know, I am not sure you will be able to boot up from it, especially with that system. You might as well get a regular SATA SSD (willbe using 2.0 speeds) to boot from.

And do you give any chance that Windows (running from another drive) will recognize it?

Yeah it should, as long as the machine recognized the PCIe SSD. You can double check in the Disk management or DISKPART to see if Windows recognizes it.
