I have a i5-4460 paired with gtx 750 TI also with 8gb ram. I am wondering how does the performance of my computer stack up compared to a PS4. Am i having better graphics and FPS? thanks. Im thinking if i should get a console or if my rig is already good enough

Solution
Should be easily comparable in terms of raw performance. Personally if I had the choice between a PS4 and a PC upgrade I take the upgrade every time. On your rig I'd probably throw the 400 at a 500W EVGA 2x6pin pci-e PSU and a GTX 970 but. That's just me. You'd blow every next gen game out of the water then. Gaming on steam will always be cheaper than gaming on console sadly. I feel like I used to waste thousands on games every year and a few hundred on hardware. Now I spend thousands on hardware and a few hundred in games every year.

PS4 Equivalent GPU:
HD Radeon 8870

Your GPU is technically inferior. You can alleviate this by upgrading it...

Your CPU is massively superior, putting out nearly double the power per core. For comparison use the 8350 per core result. Most consoles use 1 core for the operating system and 2 for optimization. So they're essentially 5 core machines. Of course the Jaguar core in both the PS4 and XB1 are a little slower, they aren't different much in architecture. The jaguar also runs at 1.6 in the PS4 instead of 3.5 for the 8350 so you're only looking at a single threaded performance score of about 500 vs 2000.

As for memory you can never have to much. In both consoles they use 3GB of memory for the operating system. Yes. They use this memory in the background of your games too giving the developers only 5GB of memory to play with. Windows 7 only uses 1-2GB of memory. Windows 10 is coming out soon which will utilize DirectX 12 which will allow for hardware level graphics, resulting in what could potentially be massive performance boosts.

You PC should be about on par with a PS4 overall. But PC games are cheaper, theres no monthly internet fee, you get hundreds of exclusives, you get to use a mouse, etc.

However, like others have said, upgrading your GPU to a 770 or 970 depending on your budget will turn your PC into far superior machine. The $770 comes in at $260 and the 970 at around $340.

As far as RAM, 8 GB is plenty for gaming.

Well spec wise, it should be about 7870M which is like 7850 which is 2-5fps more than GTX750Ti on average, since vsync is in use, it will bring down to GTX750Ti level, check all the benchmarks of PS4 you want, and then do the same with GTX750TI, you will find out that this is the truth, its paper specs were overhyped, usually thats the case with AMD cards, not fanboying, look at R7260X for example, its lesser than GTX750Ti in real time perfomance, but paper spec wise, a lie, I have researched upon this matter and this is my final conclusion:
GTX750Ti=PS4
R7250X(or 10% better)=Xbox One

P.S= Company of Heroes was 0% optimized for Nvidia cards....

multiply the fps by 1.44 to bring to same 900p result if a game is running at 1080p on 750ti...

Conclusion: your machine is better
