Hi,

I have windows 7 64 bit I have 2 Ethernet controllers in my computer. Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection and an Qualcomm Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20) I do not have the bounjour Service listed in the services So I can't delete anything. I don't have any antivirus program installed. When I go into my network connection sharing in the control panel it says for 1 of the Ethernet controllers .Unidentified network public network. Up top in the middle of the screen it says Multiple connections. I have reset my tcpip. I have reset the winsock catalog. I have done a full reset of my Comcast cable modem by holding in the reset button. Do you think maybe I need to change the mac address with mac address software that will spoof it? I fixed this problem months ago by typing numbers in a value box but I can't remember what the numbers were. When I go to do a diagnose on the network controller and connection it says Local area connection does not have a valid ip then it has status not fixed. I have windows 7 64 bit home premium..

Any help would be great!

P.S. Do you think maybe I need some mac address changer software, to change the mac address but also assign an ip to the unidentified network. Or maybe should I try a static ip.

Thanks

I fixed it. Thanks Anyways. I'm sure you guys would have helped me. I assigned it a static Ip address. So anyone that has this same problem. With a motherboard that has 2 Ethernet controllers. Just assign the one that is showing Unidentified network a static I p address. so if you have a 10.0.0.1 for a default gateway. then make the static ip 10.0.0.50 or something Like that and the subnet Mask will automatically be filled in. then make the default gateway whatever your router uses. In my case it's 10.0.0.1. and for the dns servers at the for Primary it's 75.75.75.75 and for alternative it's 75.75.76.76. Or you can use software called dns benchmark or open dns. and dns benchmark will find the fastest servers for you.

Thanks
