Hello.
I'm deciding on which laptop to buy and I could use some professional opinion. I already searched a bunch of websites, of course in my country, so the selection was limited. The final two laptops from which I'm deciding to buy (from 141341 viewed :) ) are:

  • Specifications of Acer VN7-791G-74K6:
Processor: Intel ® Core ™ i7-471HQ (2.5 GHz up to 3.5 GHz, 6 MB Cache)
    Memory: 2x4GB DDR3
    Hard drive: 128GB SSD + 1000 GB 2.5-inch 5400rpm
    Display: 17.3 "(43.9 cm) LED FHD (1920 x 1080, 16: 9), anti-glare, IPS
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M; 2GB DDR5 VRAM
    Battery: 3-cell Li-ion battery
    Weight 3.0 kg

    Specifications of Asus N750JK-T4052D:
    Processor: Intel Core i7 2.4GHz 4700HQ (up to 3,4GHz)
    Memory: 12 GB
Hard drive: 24 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD
    Display: 17.3 "(43.9 cm) LED FHD (1920 x 1080, 16: 9), anti-glare, TFT
Graphics Card: nVIDIA GeForce GTX850M 4GB
    Battery: 6-cell Li-ion battery
    Weight: 3.3 kg

I'm looking for the best laptop for college, software development, little gaming, movies...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would choose the first one if it wasn´t for the battery. The GPU and CPU are better, memory is upgradeable so 4GB difference is okay, 128GB SSD. I guess if you could find a better review with battery tests (it could have less cells but each one could hold more charge) it would be great

Thank you for you answer. Do you have any other recommendations based on this specifications and with the maximum price 1200€ (1500$)?

Acer, MSI, Sager, HP (sometimes), Asus (sometimes) and lenovo are usually among the best price/perfomance and quality. What sites can you buy from (link them to me)? do you need thin and light solutions?

i would recommend the Asus N750JK-T4052D because my friend has that laptop and he does hardcore gaming, java coding and school on it and he has had no issues, so highly recommend it

I wouldn't want it to be heavier than 3,5kg (2.2 pounds).

I think the best Acer is still the one I started this thread with. I somehow didn't find this Lenovo. I'll take a closer look at it now. Thanks man.
Edit: Ok, I remembered. Lenovo has glare display (Acer's has non-glare IPS), also no SSD. I'll just stay with Acer.
