I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 with 4GB of DDR2 ram with a Core Duo T2350 @1.86ghz with a Nvidia Geoforce Go 7300 and i was wondering what Microsoft OS is best, Its my spare laptop and i am trying to fix up in case my main pc fails. Also i cant find the drivers for the laptop on the Toshiba Website.

Currently, the latest windows you can get is the best you can get.

Windows should do the drivers automatically and you should have no problems

I would suggest Windows 7 for your laptop. 32 bit if you won't upgrade RAM and 64bit if you are planning to.

Are you sure drivers aren't here?: http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios....

It is unlikely Windows will install all the drivers and even if it does, very unlikely they will be the correct specific and latest ones. Most likely will just be a bunch of generic Windows drivers that only have one version. Not ideal.

The latest Windows (8.1) may not be best in this case because 1) Drivers may not be available for it 2) Hardware is not the greatest to be able to fully maximise Windows 8.1 performance.

Ok. You can also find individual drivers if you know all the components. E.g if you had an AMD GPU you could download from AMD website. .... if you have Realtek Audio you can download from realtek website etc etc...

After "A100" what are the rest of the numbers on the label?
Toshiba lists 8 different models under "A100"

Is this US, or AU, or elsewhere? I'm not finding that anywhere on Toshiba.
