radeon r9 280x crossfire vs gtx 770 sli

I am building a gaming pc and was wondering if 2 770's or two 280x' would be better, i am currently leaning towards the 770s but it seems that i can get the same performance from the radeon cards for a cheaper price

The two cards have similar performance. I would probably go the Nvidia route.

But I wouldn't get either of the cards you mentioned. The GTX 970 is by far the best performance buy in that range of cards. The only reason to consider either is that the prices of both cards are going down . The GTX 770 is being discontinued. And the R9 280X is going down in price because it is being outclassed by the similarly priced GTX 970.
