need help asus p5wd2 premium bios flash

I have a asus p5wd2 premium motherboard, yes i know its old but its something to play with, i put a Pentium d 945 processor and the current bios version does not support it how do i go about flashing an update i have the original boot disc and can get into dos. Can i use ez flash to flash from a disc? Please help, thank you

You need a CPU that the existing BIOS supports in order to update it.

Can't you copy the new BIOS file to a USB key, press Alt + F2 during POST and update the BIOS by selecting the file? Doing it from the hard disk may also work and it's easy for you to test by copying the BIOS file to the root of the HD.

The only thing ez flash scans is floppy and cd drive and i do not have a floppy. I tried imaging the .rom file to a cd with no luck

According to the manual, the BIOS file has to be named P5WD2.ROM. Nowhere have I found that you can update the BIOS from a CD unless you can boot from Windows and then use the included utilities CD. If you want to keep it, why not get an old floppy drive or borrow one? You don't even care if the front bezel is missing.

I have an ide floppy however i have no means to write anything on it i ordered a cpu that ia supported so.i guess ill update from windows

Ok I got a supported cpu and installed windows7 but the updater won't work in windows 7 the newest compatible version is Vista so how do I go about this
