Introduction:

Ok short story. My computer was stolen so after going through insurance I have a budget of $2200 Canadian plus tax. I would like some build suggestions. I already have an SSD and Cpu water cooler. I do not need a monitor, keyboard, or mouse. This is strictly a tower build. Also would prefer SLI setup

it'll pretty much handle everything you throw at it... for the next couple of years..
you could also go wwith a single gtx 980, or 2 gtx 970's in SLI, an i5 4690 and save you some money. because this build....well you wont even use half of it's power!
(I was assuming you wanted a gaming pc, if it's for editting you may want to throw another 8 gigs of RAM in there)
the PSU is a bit more then what's needed aswell, so you'll have some room for overclocking, which...isnt needed ;)

not at least 850. 800-850 gives you lots of headroom, even with 750 you have some room to spare. but yea, to be on the safe side, maybe it's better to take an 800 - 850 watts PSU.
for a gtx 970 sli setup you'll haave more then enough with 750 watts though

@Jowtoeh99 - Updated original post with your form, thanks

@tsune09 - I thought ddr3 @ 1866 Mhz gave the best performance do to speed and latency for games or has that changed over the past year?

there isnt much difference, you wont realy notice any difference between 1600MHz or 2133MHz or 1866MHz in gaming.
I just thought...with a budget like that, why not go for some faster RAM.

and does it have to be around the 2200 mark? or can it be alot lower to save you money and still build you a machine that'll make most people drool

Insurance is a bit of a pain, I can spend up to 2600 with taxes in so around 2200 without taxes. If i lower my budget I do not get the extra cash left over so I might as well go all out as much as I can for the $2200 budget.

If you want to save $200 just get 1 gtx 980. Also the cpu I chose is a 6 core, and you will not have to upgrade ANYTHING in this build for years.

yea go full out then!
you may aswell buy a good PC, with extra parts in it, like a 3 or 4 way gtx 970 setup, and just sell 2 of the cards and put the money in your pocket
like I said earlier, the i5 4690k is a very good CPU and will handle any game without any troubles, same with 2 gtx 970's,

@OP if the CPU cooler you have isn't compatible with my build feel free to get a i7 4790k build and add your cooler on the build that way. I suggest at least thinking about getting the SLI gpu and PSU I suggested as they are pretty good choices.
