I have some problems turning on the pc I just assembeled. I put everything together according to the instructions in the motherboard manual. When I plugged it in the power led turned green. However, when I pressed the power button on my pc the cpu led flashed red for a second and then turned off. The dram led was red also, but this one kept on. My monitor wich was connected to my gpu with an hdmi cable didnt give any signal. I'm new to building pc's and I have no idea what's wrong, does any of you have the same problem and/or knows how to fix it?

I am using the following build:
ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0
MSI N760 OC
AMD fx-6300
Aerocool vs-3 advance
Corsair cx600
Corsair vengeance 2 x 4gb

Could be the BIOS version on the motherboard needs updating. But bent pins are also a possibility.
You do have the power cable connected to the top of the motherboard right????
It should have the 24 pin connector on the side and a 8 pin toward the top.

Power cables are connected, I checked the cpu for bent pins but couldnt find any. BIOS version should be fine also. The motherboard should be the problem, but the socket doesn't really have any pins, well maybe under the plastic thing in the little holes. Is it possible that the motherboard was already defective when I got it and that I get a new one if I send it back to the shop?

Since it supports USB BIOS flashback get the BIOS update extract it then copy it to a flash drive. Rename it if the manual says to

Put it in whatever USB port, then press the reset button for 3 secs. Wait for it to finish. Then see if it goes
