Solution I I i7Baby Oct 11, 2014 pcie2.0 has 5 GT/s or 500MB/s transfer rate - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express - per lane. x8 is 4GB/s Radeon don't list transfer rates for their GPUs - http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/desktop/r9 but they'll be in 100's MB/s. No graphics cards saturate the lanes in pcie2.0 x8.
