I have a new build with an atheros ar946x wifi adapter that I have yet to be able to connect to my router. I've updated the drivers for the wifi card (couldn't find the series on qualcomm's site for some reason) and updated the router's (d-link dir-655) firmware so it's on default settings. I've tried a couple other things, renewing the ip address, resetting TCP/IP. None of my other devices are having any trouble with connecting. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is your adapter able to detect any routers at all?

start run cmd

ipconfig /all > ip.txt

Browse Computer C:\ - Users - "Your User ID" open the File ip.txt copy & Paste data in a reply here

it may help us figure whats wrong.

It does detect multiple networks, including the one I'm trying to connect to.

Here's what I get in ip.txt, maybe the "media disconnected" everywhere has something to do with ti.

@Markkk
I think that's leading me in the right direction. I've found that the AVG TDI driver causes some Media disconnected issues and I can now connect to my wifi router, but with no internet yet. I'll post back with any updates.

I've got it working now. The no internet part turned out to be due to a poor signal so I'm not certain if the AVG driver was actually part of the problem.

You may be able at add a bigger aerial to base unit to extend range

I was thinking you hadn't pressed the wifi button on your laptop initially ;)
