Inconsistent Black Screen Crashing

This is a problem I've been scouring the web over for a while now and I've arrived at a loss as for what to do. My specs are as follows, the CPU/GPU are half a year old, the rest of the build is nearing 3 years this Dec:

  • Windows 7 64bit
  • FX8350 4ghz
  • HD7950 3gb
  • Gigabyte Ga 970A UD3, running Bios 5
  • 16gb RAM
  • 1000W PSU

The problem is that when my computer is under heavy load sometimes it will black screen then reboot, with it being logged as a kernel power failure. This has occurred when I'm playing a game that uses 40%~ of my CPU and around 4GB of RAM and it has happened when I'm encoding videos at 100% CPU usage. Though I've been trying to get to the bottom of this recently, I've been encoding some sets of videos for 24hrs straight without this crash occurring. I've had a PSU fail before, but it would be consistent in if I started up something that drew a lot of power it would cut off immediately. I've yet to have it reboot on me when I'm simply browsing the web or watching a video, and there are gaps of one day to a month's worth of time in between the logs in event viewer, though some could be from power outages during storms. Also I don't believe it could be related to heat since my idle temps are 19/35 Celsius and load temps are, at max, 51/58 Celsius on CPU/GPU respectively.

As for trouble shooting I've updated my outdated drivers, allowed Windows updates to go through, and tested my ram with Window's diagnostic tool, which showed no problems. I've also been testing my C: drive because this morning after waking up to the login screen the disk was unusually slow, but after rebooting it seems fine so far. I ran a full HDtune error check on it and it returned no errors. Lastly, I've got crash dumps enabled as a small memory dump, but none are created.
