What is the difference between mSATA and 2.5" form ssd's?

I was wondering what the difference is between ssd's that say mSATA and ssd's that say 2.5" under the title 'form'.

The mSata was designed for laptops that had sata slots for them. They are just like an SSD without it's outer case, for the most part. They are just the pc board, chips and such. Some desktop motherboards have support for them too. Here's some info:
