Hi guys

Recently, I bought and set up my Asus RT-AC68U (running 5656 asus fw) and used my old N56U (running latest padavan fw) as a bridge and connected the two wirelessly over 5ghz. Everything is going great except for the fact that instead of getting the full speed (I'm running on 200mbps fiber), I am just getting half of that. Also, how do I access the N56U? As it's already wirelessly bridged to my AC68U, when I type in the default gateway (192.168.1.1), it automatically connects to the AC68U instead of the N56U.

Side note: I sometimes lose my 5ghz connection (even though my devices have full wifi signal) and it often requires me to wait a few seconds or just off and on my wifi on the device. What's that about?

Hope someone can assist! Thanks!

When you configured the device you must change the IP address to something is not conflicting. If you have the same IP address on both device you can get all kinds of strange errors which could be the cause of your wait issue.

If you can get 100m on a 802.11n connection you are doing much better than most people. The 300m or 450m are mostly magic marketing numbers. They represent total bandwidth with both upload and download combine and also assume you always get perfect data transmission with no overlap or contention. Most people are lucky to get numbers in the 80m/sec range using 802.11n and many get much much worse because of their particular house.
