HP's website indicate the following possible processors
Core 2 Duo E6x00
Core 2 Duo E4x00
Pentium D 9x0 Dual Core
Pentium D 8xx Dual Core
Pentium 4 6x1 series
Celeron D 3xx series

Overall, better off saving the money towards a new system.

I have seen this and I have seen post from google saying that it does not work for all E6x00 cpus thats why I just need someone that knows for sure that a specific cpu will work on my mother board and I'm not looking for the series i'm looking for the best cpu for my mother board.

Well, unless you find someone with that specific mobo who has tried those cpus, then all you can go off is the manufacturers website which is what runswindows95 did for you. As for the best one, choose the best from that list by googling the benchmarks for each one.

if you can find one get a cheap Pentium D 805 and overclock it to 4.0ghz. I only say that if you just happen to stumble across one. A new half decent computer does not cost much now. well Memory is expensive, but that's it really.

I have a computer with the leucite 3 version of that mobo and it has a pentium d 925 yet the hp website says it will only accept a 8xx series pentium d, so you will have to try it and see if it works.
