I didn't know that stock fan would spin that fast. Do you have C&Q enabled? What do you have the CPU FAN settings in BIOS at?

If I remember my old 965 cooler it actually does it 6k, thats why I replaced mine with the 212 EVO.

You're probably right. As I remember, the 4 heat pipe stock coolers were really noisy at full speed. My 965BE has a 212 EVO on it too. In fact its stock cooler still has the original factory thermal paste on it; never been used. That was a great processor in its time. I wish I had never sold my 980BE, though.

My 965 can still keep up with games on ultra, so Im holding out on upgrading.

well ive already tried to change the fan speed in bios settings from FULL ON to Automatic which let me choose to level 1-9, i pick level 4 and when im only browsing with 45c-50c temperature and rpm of 4000rpm, when im playing game the temperature becomes 55c-60c and rpm of 6500-6900rpm

It sounds like it is doing what it is suppose to. Speeding up the fan when the CPU gets warm. And your temps are kinda high. Has it been a long time since you cleaned off the old thermal paste and put new on? After a few years of continual use, the stuff can dry out. How's the inside of the case, heat sink, etc, clean?

in terms of cleaning, before i put it in my board its very clean, i just installed this processor 2 days ago
the thermal paste is still very plenty...

Very plenty? You didn't use too much, did you? That can cause high temps. You just want a very thin film. Just enough to fill in the microscopic pores of the metal surfaces.

If you are not planning on upgrading the gfx card in the near future, you will get the best frame rates in-game with the 720p display (1366x768). That gfx card is fine for that resolution. You'll be able to play at max/near max resolution in most games. As you increase resolution (number of pixels), the card will have more work to do to render each frame. As a result, you will have to lower in-game settings for each increase in monitor resolution.
If, on the other hand, you plan on upgrading to a faster card before you upgrade the monitor again, the 1600x900 would be the way to go. More pixels equals finer detail.
