LOL +1.

Thx for the positive feedback, I don't hear hardly anybody talk about how good this forum is.

Back to the issue, what's wrong with your gpu?

Haha, it only posted a bit of what I had written?! Hmm strange. Ok here I go again lol.

My spec:
Asus Maximus VI Hero
Intel i5-4570
8gb kingston blue series ram
120gb Kingston ssd
2tb Toshiba hdd.
VTX R9-270X GPU
Corsair CX600

Basically I set up all my pc first without GPU to make sure everything was working on etc, which it did.
The issue started when I placed my GPU into slot 1 on the mobo (PCI 3.0 x16). Nothing happened, not even bios. Tried various settings from searching on here but nothing worked. I then tried it in slot 2 (not sure what it is rated etc as manual was a little unclear). Anyways, it fired up perfectly & works fine. I did try a different 6 pin connector from my psu but wouldn't have thought that would be the issue?

Anyways thanks again for being patient, hopefully it will post all of it this time

Your post was successful! :)

That's a weird issue, have you updated the BIOS?

No not touched bios yet, but it works on slot 2 so must be compatible with motherboard. Unless it was a dodgy connection on my psu. Might try a bios update later

Oh, this is unexpected, your build doesn't make any sense, I wouldn't expect anything below R9 290 with that motherboard, maybe Asus didn't either. Just saying...

Would have loved to have gone with an R9 290 but budget stood in the way lol, the main reason for the motherboard was to make it a bit more future proof :)

That won't make it future proof. When your chipset gets old, there's nothing you can do.

Yeh of course, I just meant for me to upgrade (up to 32gb ram) supports crossfire etc possibly upgrade cpu.
