I have been told many times to go with AMD Card based on the specs of my PC, but I'm wondering if my motherboard will work with and AMD R9 290X because of its PCIe Slots. I have an MSI 760GM-P34 (FX). I know my CPU will work well with it, and my RAM will do just fine, but I also need to know which kind of power supply I should get? I know it needs to be around 500-650 Watts, and I am thinking about a Semi-Modular supply with 80 Plus Bronze at least. What do you think would work well so I could plug the graphics card into the power supply without splitters? Thanks!

The 970 is out performing the 290x and a bit cheaper I think if you look around, best part is it does this using 145W instead of the 300W for the 290x, a LOT less power.

I recommend the GTX 970 as well because it is cheaper then the R9 290x and is more efficient. Get the EVGA 600B Bronze Certified PSU. It was a great deal for $60 at Micro Center.
