I have bought an Asus maximus vii Hero and Kingston Hyperx beast with code KHX16C9T3K2/16x. it has 240 pin 1600 mhz. on their site they say it does not support the Z97 chipset which the mobo is, while pcpartpicker does say it is compatible. (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GByhmG) Do you guys have any idea if it works otherwise i will return it.

Thanks for anyone who responds

If the manufacturer says it is not supported, then that is who I will believe, rather than a 3rd party website.

This ram is supported on Z87 chipset. It should run on Z97. Where is it mentioned on Kingston website? Please provide link to that.

Strange though. It is a plug n play type RAM for which BIOS of the mobo should support the current JEDEC specs. I believe Z97 chipset has that support in terms of JEDEC requirement. Anyhow, it is better to inquire with the company directly. Kingston guy is also on this platform, if he is reading he may abe able help you.

They'll be fine, the advertising goes back to when they were released and hasn't been updated

There is a big difference between the website saying "it's not supported" and the website not saying "it's supported".

Yes, it should work. I've checked NewEgg website reviews. Many users are using it on Z87, so it should work on Z97 as well. And if you are still in doubt, then please contact Kingston over the issue.

Sorry, it was Amazon not NewEgg. Here is the link:

Also, I've made query to Kingston, let's see what they have to say on it.

Hi, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support. Just to clarify our HyperX memory is designed to work with the listed chipsets on our site and will work with later chipsets. As Tradesman1 said, the advertised chipsets on our website are from when that line of memory was first released and has not be updated. For a truer statement the HyperX Beast statement should say something like: Designed to work with P55, H67, P67, Z68, H61 (AG), X79, Z77 and later Intel chipsets; as well as A75, A87, A88, A89, A78. E35 (Fusion) and later AMD chipsets.

I hope that explains things a little better.

Thanks for choosing HyperX
