im thinking of getting a windows 8 license as my hdd is nearly death and i plan to install a new windows and my actual windows is an OEM Version. the issue i have is that my mobo is a ASUS m4a87td EVO and i dont seem to find any drivers for windows 8 for it . so if anyone knows this mobo, does it works well on windows 8 with the currenty windows 7 drivers i get from the asus page?

also , maybe im being picky but i love windows 7 interface, i hate metro interface a lot . is windows 8.1 able to boot to the desktop and allow me to use it like it was windows 7 ?

8.1 gives the option to boot directly to the desktop. You only need see the metro interface when you want to.

You can make the Windows 8 to work like Windows 7 at startup with the of utilities. Btw Windows 10 has been announced and its interface is good improvement over Windows 8. You can try its beta version.

Windows 7 drivers may work for Windows 8. Windows 8 detects and picks automatically most of the drivers. Give it a try.
