DVI output has stopped working

So I had my PC connected to a monitor via a DVI cable and everything was working
perfectly fine until one time that I connected my PC to my TV via VGA cable(used a dvi-to-vga adapter on the GPU port). When I reconnected my PC to its initial monitor I couldn't get any output. My GPU is an HD 7770(one DVI port, one HDMI), my monitor has 2 ports(one DVI, one VGA).
I've been using the same adapter and a VGA cable ever since to make due but I really
want to fix this and get back to DVI. I tried my monitor and DVI cable on a different PC and it worked fine so the problem is on my computer and more spefically my graphics card(I guess). Its port must be fine as well as the adapter on it is working.
It's like my GPU suddenly stopped displaying digital and can only display analog. I had connected my PC to the TV many times prior and there wasn't any problem when I reconnected it to its monitor, don't know what happened now.
Anybody can help? Sorry for the long post, I looked around and couldn't find anything helpful so I'm in need of assistance.
Thanks in advance!

Check settings in Catalyst Control Center, search if you can find any settings there.

If you have a copy of graphic driver Catalyst Control Center, re-install or repair it. Its better to use the last driver that works with your system. Maybe you don't want to use latest Catalyst beta software.

Is there a video port (DVI digital) on your motherboard? can you remove your graphic card (or Pcie plug to disconnect power on gpu) and connect your monitor directly to motherboard via dvi cable? If you get display then your system is fine and get back to graphic card.

Re-seat your GPU. Take take it out and put it back in while the pc is off, then turn the system on and check the VGA and DVI ports. Observe if monitor is taking input from DVI or VGA.

You can also update display. Go to control panel > device manager > look for the display/ monitor (maybe by chance you find your monitor model there), driver properties then let windows update it.

I unplugged my GPU and connected the monitor directly to the motherboard via DVI and I got output so it's the GPU's fault. I uninstalled the drivers, installed the latest ones, even re-seated it but it's still not working. :/
Thanks for being the only one to help me though. :)

1. Can you borrow a DVI cable from other pc, preferrably shorter than what you have.
2. Could be a BIOS bug? don't enable that port for display? How about the EDID?
3. Is there any option in your monitor On-Screen-Display where you can change the input signal, like an "auto" option which allows the monitor to choose automatically whether to be analog or digital?

1. I have another DVI cable(though not shorter) but it still doesn't give output.
2. I couldn't find anything in the BIOS regarding the GPU's ports. How can I check if there's something wrong with the EDID? Though I tried the monitor and DVI cable on another PC and it worked fine.
3. There is no option in the On-Screen-Display to choose display type but there is a button Source on the monitor. Pressing it now, the screen turns black for an instant(monitor's power button flashes blue for a couple of secs) and then says analog. I tried pressing it with the DVI cable connected and the monitor's power light turns blue and remains that way(normally it goes off after a sec or two) and the screen remains black with no output.

Just to Summarize:
Monitor port: DVI & VGA
GPU port: DVI & HDMI
PC to TV (via VGA adaptor): DVI Working!
PC to Monitor: only via DVI --- no display/ no signal
Trials:
1. Monitor & DVI cable to other PC: Working!
2. Unplugged Graphics card, connect Monitor to Motherboard video port: Working!
3. Uninstalled reinstalled driver, nothing happened.
So far: Monitor is ok, System is ok except of something In you Graphic card or cable.
Forget EDID error stuff, it happens if your monitor receives no signal at all.

May I know which port is available on your card?

You summed it up pretty well. The port on my GPU is the DVI-I(Dual Link).

edit: I should add that my two DVI cables are DVI-D(Dual Link) and DVI-D(Single Link). Maybe buying a DVI-I(Dual Link) cable, which would match the GPU port perfectly, would do the job?

You may buy another cable. Your DVI-D cables are both for digital either single or dual.. while your Graphic card supports digital and analog.. Monitors nowadays has DVI-D port, it should work in digital... unless only analog.. You can check you monitor port.

You're right, my monitor has a DVI-D(Dual Link) port. From things so far and what you've said, the problem is the GPU.

Nah I don't think it's worth the risk. I'll probably resort to getting a new cable even though I doubt it's gonna change anything. Failing that I'll stick to VGA.
Nevertheless, I thank you for your continuing assistance. I really appreciate it. :)
