A few month back I bought G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR. I all ready had two sticks installed. I should have 16gb but is only show I have 8gb slot 1,2,4 shows i have the ram installed. slot 3 shows nothing. I have a ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 motherboard. Reading the manual (I should have done first) It states that it only supports 2 sticks of this ram. Does anybody know of a way to get all 4 sticks to work?

CPU - AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz

Have you tried all three other sticks in slot 3? The online motherboard manual doesn't show any 2 stick limitation that I saw. 32GB max 4 DIMMs. The other thing to try is try all 4 sticks one at a time with memtest.

Ram is sold in kits for a reason.
Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time.
Some motherboards can be very sensitive to this.
That is why ram vendors will NOT support ram that is not bought in one kit.

With 4 sticks, it becomes even more important that their characteristics be matched.
The ram controller must manage them all in exactly the same way.
That is one reason 4 stick kits of the same capacity cost more than a 2 stick kit.

Test your ram with memtest 86+
It is the gold standard for testing ram.
You should get NO errors with a full pass.

First, each stick at a time to verify that each stick works, and works in different slots.

To make things work, adding a touch of extra voltage will often do the trick.

You might try opening up a support issue with G.skil.
If they can.t get things to work, you could try to beg them to accept your two 2 stick kits in exchange for a 4 stick kit.

It does say in the manual that the mobo supports 2 modules of ram of that model number. I bought the fist to sticks a year ago and just wanted upgrade to more ram. I will run memtest 86+ as suggested later tonight. I was just hoping I could tweak it a bit to get it work.

What CPU? if 8320 or better, try the sticks at spec timings - raise DRAM voltage + 0.07 over spec and raise the CPU/NB voltage to 1.25 and try
