Im looking for a good first PC build. I feel confident in my ability to assemble it but I don't know a thing about what parts to get. Another big part is the budget, I'm young and don't have a cash source but I have saved up about 500 dollars. if anyone out there would be able to put together a cheap build (Preferably here: http://pcpartpicker.com/) that could run games it would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking for a great build, just something that could run fairly simple games smoothly, and I know I will have to upgrade eventually but for now I want the most bang for my buck. P.S. I only have a mouse and keyboard so please include a monitor and OS In the build. Thanks in advance!

I don't think that is possible at that price point. A monitor and OS is going to take up at least $150-$200 of the budget.

In my opinion i think you should wait and round up a bit more cash to buy a PC with just so you can get more out of it and so that you dont have to be behind with all the new games coming out.

Here is the best I could come up with. And it has a rather weak CPU. It comes in at $629 with $85 in mail-in rebates, and a $10 instant rebate. So the end price would come to $534, but you would have to wait 6 to 8 weeks to get your "rebate cards" to come in the mail. I personally have never had any problems with mail-in rebates. But I have heard a few bad stories about them.

This would be a decent starting point for you, although I would suggest upgrading the CPU. But I think Claaken is right. You are better off saving up more money and getting a overall better rig. Shoot for around $650 total for a nice quality gaming rig.

I would go with Rockie's Intel Pentium build. That looks to be the best choice
