First error I see in event viewer is:
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
discache
spldr
--- then:
The winlogon notification subscriber <GPClient> was unavailable to handle a notification event.
--- and a bunch of:
DCOM got error "1084" attempting to start the service ShellHWDetection with arguments "" in order to run the server:
--- and a lot of THIS when I tried to use an Aero Theme again, right before it crashed:
The description for Event ID 13 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
I downloaded a clean version of spldr and it let me log in but my desktop looked funky. It didn't load Aero so I tried to select an aero theme and it crashed. I had to reboot. Aero was down when I logged in, it would only load the classic grey task bar. I have both HD Tune and CrystalDisk and they show both drives as healthy. Both are new drives. Ran a malwarebytes scan. I've been having trouble using the Safely Remove Hardware to disconnect USB Mass Storage external drives. I just ran CCleaner and fixed some stuff in the registry. Still having the same problem.
Tried and didn't work:
- memTest -- RAM works fine
- chkdsk is ok, Furmark stress test shows GPU working ok.
- Reinstalling nVidia drivers for my EVGA GeForce 560ti x 3 times. Different versions, clean installs every time.
- Reinstalled Intel's onboard VGA drivers.
- Downloaded copies of both spldr.sys and discache.sys (not recommended)
- CLEAN WIN7 INSTALL -- did not work, as soon as I installed nvidia drivers it Blue screened.
EDIT: SOLUTION: Found latest BIOS and flashed it. Everything works now. Mind you, had to reinstall win7 for the 5th time after flashing it.
