Hi,

I have a Kingston 64 GB SSD which I am going to sell and buy a 120 GB as they are cheaper now. However, the SSD I have now has Windows on it etc and I want to wipe it so I can send it of to the buyer but I am not too sure how to do this. Some internet users say, you shouldn't format an SSD so I am kind of stuck?

I wanted to install windows on my older IDE hard drive until I get the new SSD and was thinking to insert the windows CD in and when the storage options come up, I was thinking to quick format the SSD from there and then install windows to the old hard drive.. What do you guys think? I don't want to mess it up therefore I am asking. Sorry if I leave any important details out.

More about : format ssd

You want to perform a "Secure Erase" on it (e.g. with Parted Magic)
