C drive almost full = buy some other storage, or delete some stuff, or both.

What drives do you currently have?
Size and type.

8GB Memory has nothing to do with your C Drive. A 1TB hard drive is rather difficult to fill if you don't have a huge music, movie, picture library. I'm talking HUGE picture library. You'd have to have hundreds of thousands of songs to fill 1TB. What do you have on your hard drive that could be taking up so much space?

Secondly, what is the model of desktop? Sometimes, they have little 24GB solid state drives in them just for your operating system, and those will fill up very fast. Give us a model number of desktop and we can help you better.

Noobie, sorry. HP Pavilion 500-017c -Windows 8.1- Only really use for browsing and saving music. I have about 500 audio files in my music folder.

When you open "File Explorer," how many drives do you see? The drive you say is full, how many GB free out of how many GB? It should say something like 46GB of 931GB free. What are those numbers?

It says Windows (c:)  148 GB free of 911 GB, Recovery Image (D:)  2.27 GB free of 17.7 GB, and DVD RW Drive (E:)  4.37 GB free of 4.37 GB

You must have either a crap ton of programs installed on that drive, or you have the most temp files anyone has ever had on their drive. Or, you have a much bigger music library than you claim. Something is filling that drive up. Identify that and you've found your problem. You can run disk cleanup to see if anything like temp files or dump files are eating up a ton of space, but it's unheard of to have more than like 10GB of temp files unless your computer is 20 years old.

WinDirStat can help visualize where that space is.

You have more stuff in there than you think.

OMG, ran windirstat, There are so many items and files that I don't know where to begin. What should I make sure I don't delete/remove and what should I immediately get rid of? Thanks so much. By the way I did have 493 audio files. hehe.
