I'm looking at getting a budget card for a second machine that doesn't need to do much heavy lifting past Total War Rome 2. I've settled on the AMD Radeon R9 270X per PC Gamer's suggestion, but I have a quick question about OpenGL support. Some of the cards I've looked at on Newegg have OpenGL 4.2 support listed under 3D APIs (Sapphire, MSI), but others don't (Gigabyte, HIS). I'm leaning towards the HIS card just for price reasons, but is there in anything I should worry about the lack of OpenGL 4.2 support? Thanks!

I would say it's just an oversight on NewEgg's part. OpenGL is supported at the hardware level and leveraged by the driver. So all 270X's will support the same API's regardless of manufacturer.

Thanks so much - this was my assumption, but I just wanted to make sure.
