So i bought the gtx 970 asus strix today and i connected it to my nox psu 600w but it only as 6 pin pci-e , plus 2 extra , so i plugged everything , power it up but in game my computer just freezes and sometimes it shuts down.. is i the psu problem or does it sound like it is more of a gpu problem?
thanks

What are the rest of your specs? Processor, RAM, hard drives, etc.? I suspect your PSU is crap. NOX is not a good brand for PSU. From what I've seen, that 600W is only capable of 465W total output and the amperage sucks. Probably need a new PSU. Get a quality brand like EVGA, Seasonic, XFX. 600W I would say is a minimum.

My solution to this problem was to enable a "Power Loading" feature in my bios setting. Gtx 970 being highly efficient, will frequently be drawing power and cutting off power, this sudden change in power causes some of the older/lower quality power supplies to shutdown. By enabling "Power Loading", you allow the power supply to draw out constant power through a "dummy load". Otherwise, setting your the power options in the nVidia Control Panel to "Maximum Performance" to draw out more/consistent power.
