Hey guys, I was wondering what would be better to run Witcher 3 on. Either an Xbox One or a PC.
My PC specs:
GPU: EVGA GTX 760
CPU: i5-4440
8 GB Ram
Thanks in advance.

Whether the Devs optimize or not unless the game is left running extremely bad it's still nowhere near the PC. For instance the PS4 can hardley run games at native 1080 and the One simply cannot. I would recommend PC. While they have not released specs it should run OK on moderate hardware, and have options for people who have over $1000 in GPU's in their systems. Plus, there is the possibility of mods. The hardware you listed should be good for medium settings (again just an assumption based on TW2 performance), maybe more depending on other options like AO and AA.

If you don't want to mess with settings to get performance dialed in and don't care if it can't be modded, then the XB1 version should be fine.

What is better? A thing were you almost only can play some games or a system were you can do more or less everything and change graphics and it can be much more powerful. When you prefer controller buy a pc controller.

The only reason I can see where consoles would be better than PC is if the PC is too slow to run the game well.
If you get the PC version (Like I plan to), once the PC is updated, the game can be maxed out/moded most likely (like the stalker series in PC for example).

Since this is something I cant do on a Console, I never bothered buying one (after my childhood SEGA Mega Drive).

Even then with his system, the GPU he has is stronger than the dumbed down R9 290x the throw into the Xbox One. Pretty certain they used a laptop GPU for it. The Xbox One only has a 330 watt power supply and that is just not enough to run a full blown 290x, and given that the games released for the Xbox still run for the 360, the only difference between the two is the disc they put it on and adding a few visual effects. So as long as they don't poorly optimize the game, like Watchdogs did, it will run just fine on his system. At native 1080p no less, not the terrible 900p the One averages.

True, but I assume the console version is better optimized, so its not like you can fully compare them on even ground.
Knowing AAA titles in the past have not really optimized PC versions, I doubt you can see a huge improvement in the PC version untill the next 2 gpu generations.

That beeing said, yes, the PC version is better.

Witcher series is not badly optimized for PC historicaly, so we can have some hope :D.

Many folks may say that's not an issue, however; it's leaves the image blurred on the screen further reducing the finite quality. This is only one issue console designers still have not addressed. When they talk about optimization, they really mean bug checking, PC's use widely varied hardware and drivers don't always get along with PC hardware, even for games natively designed for PC this is an issue. But the community always resolves the issue themselves. Take The Evil Within, the community unlocked the framerate from 30 to 60 FPS. Another bad console port.
