I was thinking about using my gaming PC as a media player too. However, being a rather un-soundproof case, I am wondering whether or not it would be possible to disable the case fans fans while running a media OS such as xbmc/kodi or a Linux build, while leaving them in while running windows. The CPU cooler is a h80i, would I also be able to disable the fans entirely and rely on the radiator itself for heat dissipation? Running only HD 1080p and lower, I doubt the CPU would get too hot. Are these possible, and us so, how would I go about doing them?
Finally, would u be able to run the media os itself off only the Intel graphics, disabling the discrete card. Again, if this is possible, how would I go about doing this?
