Hi All

I have a Sony TV with built in blueray player. The model number is KDL-40EX43B. It is currently turning on and displaying a static green light. If I turn the TV on/off it changes between the green and red light so it is responding to the panel and also I can turn it on/off by the remote.

I see nothing on the screen, no picture, no boot logo, no menus, no sound. To give a bit of a background to the problem a few weeks ago a DVD got stuck in the blueray player. After turning it on/off a few (~50) times and pressing random buttons on the side panel I finally got it to eject the disc. But after I got the disc out the TV still didn't work. After cycling the power a number of times I managed to get the boot logo to come up once and the TV was fully functional but this only happened once or twice.

I have tried completely disconnecting any internal wires that link to what I believe is the blueray board as this is where the problem first started. But no luck. I have started checking the voltages coming off the main board, results below;

24v unregulated (I think to the backlight) = ~25v
12v regulated = ~12v
BL-Error = ~3.3v (this one worries me)
BL-On = ~0v
AU12v = ~0v (this one worries me)

I will check these properly tomorrow.

Update 1: Voltages from the connectors on the power board in the picture linked below;

Update 2: I don't here a clicking sound when the TV turns on.

Update 3: I shorted the stb3.3v pin to power on pin and got the backlight on so the inverter and backlights work so this makes me think it is the main board.

Any suggestions would be really helpful, if anyone has access to a service manual that would be a great help.

Thanks in advanced
