Hello,

Gigabyte gigabyte 990fxa-ud3
Amd FX-6300
with Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2
MSI R9 270x 2Gb
8gb DDR3
EVGA 600W PSU Bronze 80

My computer has been regularly hitting 60 degrees and beeping to alert me whilst gaming Shadow of Mordor, Star Citizen and Thief. I dont even want to try BF Hardline in case of overheating and melting my mobo!!

Using CPUID HWMonitor to monitor whats what, once I close my game my system cools down to 33 Degrees Celsius and the CPU to 39 Degrees. Its the CPU thats heating up... Should I jack up fan speed with MSI Afterburner while gaming to Max 100 setting?

I have the CPU O'C in UEFI bios to 4ghz, should I switch it back??

Any help greatly appreciated!! thanks!

First of all your cpu cooler is only a 92mm. It needs to be a120mm like a Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO. Second
your core max temp is 61.1 Degrees Celsius. That would be the Package temp on Harware monitor. Max socket temps are 70- about 75 provided core temps are ok. It would be wise to replace the cpu cooler first.

You definitely need a Hyper 212 Evo, it is a good bank for your buck and really performs well.

Just wondering are you over clocking manually or Auto, because usually when in auto mode the mobo will 90% tend to over volt and cause/create more heat.
