Hi guys, I'm currently building a gaming pc. I was wondering if GTX 750 Ti is a good choice, and how long would it be able to handle next gen games. In other words is it a long term investment. Thanks in advance :D

750ti is a pretty good card. It gives performance similar to PS4 for only like $140 or so. It's hard to say exactly how long it will handle games well but I would say at least 2-3 years.

AMD r7 265 is a pretty good card too.

It's not worth buying unless you want to always be playing on med-high settings or lower. Huang Ray lists a better card for a good price.

Please lists your specs and budget so we can recommend something for you, if the 280 isn't what you want.

Hello,

it will depend on a few things - your budget, what CPU you are planing to pair it with and what type of performance you would expect in games - at what resolution and with what settings you are going to play those games.

an r7 265 or r9 270 will stay relevant longer and should be in the same price range(both are decent for 1080p)

I have a PNY GTX 750 Ti OC in a secondary PC. I also have an HD 7950 Boost (same as the R9 280) in my main PC. The HD 7950 is a good deal stronger and (as the R9 280) is an excellent buy. The XFX R7 265 is definitely a great buy as well. I like the GTX 750 Ti, but its not able to handle next gen games right now on anything more than medium to high settings, let alone several years from now.

I plan on pairing it with Intel Core i5-4690 Haswell Quad-Core 3.5GHz on a ASUS H97M-E 1150 motherboard, going along with 8 GB of RAM memory. I have a pretty small monitor, 14-15 inch I think, so it won't be very challenging to run it at 1366 x 768 resolution. I was hoping I could run it on high and ultra-high for at least a year. Thanks for the response
