Will it work?

I will be using 2 x 40mm RAM (http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-12800cl9d-8gbrl)

On a H97 m/b (http://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/H97PRO/)

"On some LGA115x and AMD motherboards, the front fan may overhang the first RAM slot, so standard height RAM (up to 32mm) should be chosen when using the first slot."

Will there be a problem with my build?

Is it recommended to use the 1st RAM slot?

Thanks

This cooler is designed to not interfere with tall RAM and I doubt you will have any problem.

Also, use the RAM slots for dual channel that your motherboards manual tells you to use.

I wont be building it, does dual channel ram slots include the first ram slot on the ASUS H97 PRO?

Like what would be the disadvantage of using the 2nd and 4th ram slots?

You generally use the second and fourth spot. If you aren't buodling it, tell whoever is to just read the manual.
