I'm not sure if networking is the appropriate place for this topic. If not, please direct me to the proper forum.

I recently built a new computer. It worked fine for several weeks. I installed cisco anyconnect to VPN to my work. That night while playing an online MMO my internet stopped working when the game was up. When I shut the game off I have full use of the internet. I was talking over ventrillo at the time and they could still hear me but I couldn't hear them. When I shut off the game, I heard everything they said to me during the time my internet was frozen, all at once. I tried several other online games and had the same result. The internet is fine without being in a game. And I am able to play offline games fine.

This is happening intermittently. It will work fine for several weeks, then the problem will come up again. The only thing that works is letting the computer cool, turning off the power supply and unplugging it for a day. That will usually get me another few weeks of online play.

I have ruled out my internet connection itself. But if you need specifics I uses a Linksys Wireless G router and Motorola surfboard modem. With speedtest.net I get 16-18mbps down and 4-5mbps up. This computer and another desktop computer are both plugged into the router with ethernet cables. My 3rd computer (a laptop) is connected wireless. I also have a smart TV connected wireless. The internet consistently works on all devices except the new computer, including being able to play online games with the old desktop.

I have since uninstalled cisco anyconnect and went through the registry and program folders to verify it was completely gone, but I'm still having this problem. I don't know if the VPN caused it in the first place or if this was a coincidence that it happened the night I installed this.

Some additional info on my build:

MB ASROCK|Z75 PRO3 Z75 LGA1155 R
VGA EVGA|02G-P4-3063-KR GTX 660 2G
CPU INTEL|CORE I5 3470 3.2G 6M R
PSU CORSAIR | CX750M 750W R
WINDOWS 7 64-bit

Some other trouble shooting I've done is having a PC specialist look at it to verify that I wired everything properly and reseating the memory sticks.

Any help is appreciated.
