Is it a Defective Motherboard?

Motherboard: Asus X501a

Greetings,

I have a problem with my laptop. There is no LED indicator it is getting power when plugged in, and will not turn on. With or without the battery. I have confirmed that the AC adapter plugged into the wall is putting out 19V as it should. The DC jack in the laptop is also sending 19V to the motherboard yet there is still no indicator it is receiving power. Could this mean I have a defective motherboard? I also checked the voltage on the pins that connect to the battery from the motherboard. Each pin seems to give 1V each yet the battery says it needs minimum of 10V. I believe that it is not receiving enough power and there is a broken component somewhere along the line. Am I correct?

Thanks for your help.

Either the battery is gone or the MB circuitry is gone. If the battery is dead, voltage at one end but squat at the other where it comes out and into the laptop.

I'm guessing that it is the laptop circuitry, usually the MB that is bad because you said that it still does not work when plugged in with or without the battery.

Thanks for your input, but can anyone explain why I am getting voltage to the battery but no power LED or power still?
